During the 1970s and 80s Bounty Boats Ltd of Brundall, Norfolk England made cruisers for boat hire fleets in UK, Eire, Northern Ireland, France and Holland.

Originally these were the Buccaneer range of inland cruisers built for durability, all weather comfort and minimum maintenance. Features were:

          - open interior on one level
          - forward steering under cover in the saloon
          - heating, hot water, shower and toilet
          - conventional sink, cooker and fridge
          - sliding wheel house or sunshine roof
          - stern mounted diesel engine with hydraulic drive

Building on their experience, other Bounty designs of inland and coastal cruisers followed.

Of over 2000 craft made only eleven were for private use. Now with hire fleets either updating or reducing, many are increasingly being sold to private owners who appreciate the enduring benefits of these sturdy craft.

Bounty Boats Ltd ceased trading in 1996. Lacking a corporate focus, owners recently started this club. The aims are to:-

          - facilitate exchange of information between members
          - help members maintain and preserve their boats
          - widen members cruising areas by boat exchange

Currently members are from Norfolk Broads and the Thames Valley. We would especially like to encourage new members from other countries such as Ireland, France and Holland.  We would also appreciate input from anyone with experience of, or information about, Bounty craft.

Although Buccaneers were designed for inland waters many were delivered to the continent by sailing across the channel, the brochure shows a craft prepared for this journey. We would be interested to hear from any skippers who undertook delivery.
